hi people my left hand rear window has power to the motor so i assume the motor is the problem does anyone know if the electric window motor be re built on my 93 disco.do i have to take out the winder assembly to remove the motor

Just fixed a problem like this yesterday, had power but no up or down, turns out the bottom of the motor arm had come out of the teeth in the electric motor, had to pull the motor off the plate that holds it to the car door to put the arm back in but now works perfectly, if it is the motor, it's sealed so i cant think you can fix it...

Yesterday driving along and decided to lower the driver's RH window.
Well the window proceeded to go down and then make a terrible racket inside.
Is that a common problem and whats the nomal cost to fix?
(The electric motor still sounds like it's working.)

A common problem is a collapsing of the roller that goes inside the guide bar along the bottom of the window. You can replace them with a slding window roller from a hardware store or make up a nylon slider yourself ( see Projects and Tutorials section ). Take the inside door panel off and see what the problem is first. It will be fairly obvious.
