Thumbs down CDL DRAMAS after install

Well i put the actuator in and the CDL won't engage now, no light on the dash and feels like it not engaging.

I've checked how far it moves and seems to be going it's full travel, but nothing

Any ideas on whether it's the actuator or the transfer case

    Baz.
    Cheers Baz.

Have you tried it with - just selecting CDL manually, 10mm spanner on the selector.

Once you select CDL try to reverse a bit - sometimes the dog clutch 'sticks' and should 'pop' in when you reverse.

The main culprit seems to be the spring on the selector mechanism

Are you sure its not locking? it might be just the sensor? i had to replace mine after last time i had troubles, not sure why but the old one just stoped working. Pull out the ABS relay, jack up one of the wheels and try driving it forwards slowly, Either that or it could need an slight adjustment as ladas mentioned. After i had troubles withmy AMV setup i found that it had damaged the CDL mechanism and it wouldnt lock, but mine was jammed in place not turning at all.

If the CDL sensor/switch is screwed in too far it can stop the CDL from engaging.

Try and wind it out with the CDL in the engaged position, you may here it "click" in when the switch is screwed out far enough.
    Cheers

Yeah sorry as usual my explanations leave a little to be desired.....

The switch that turns the light on the dash on and off. It sits on the top CDL housing, just near the actuator. If it's screwed in to far it can stop the CDL engaging.

Should have 2 wires going to it.

*Mick stands by to be told he doesn't know what he's talking about........again!*
    Cheers

The LT230 diff lock mechanism is not a positive device. It relies on a spring to engage the dogs when they align.

Even though the lever is in the locked position, the diff is not locked until the dogs engage.

As the others have said, if the switch for the dash lamp is adjusted a minute amount too low, or is sticky, the spring does not have enough force to push past the plunger in the switch to lock the diff.
