    Defender Roof replacement

    G'day All,
    Another request for help.
I am now putting the roof on my 120 project. When dismantled there was a rubber strip on the rear panel which I have replaced with a new one.
On the front above the windscreen was a double hollow tube seal which fitted into a lipped recess. I assume this is the inner seal.
However in the parts manual it lists an inner and outer front seal.
I have been to 2 land Rover parts suppliers and are unable to help me with these seals.
Should there be another seal between windscreen and roof or is this second seal a stip of soft bostic tape?
Can anyone know where I can source a new rubber seal or will I need to order from O/Seas.
    Thanks, David.

The inner & outer seal are both available from Land Rover:
    Inner MTC4994 (around $28)
    Outer MTC6568 (around $8)

Both seals are in Land Rover's warehouse so any dealer should be able to get them in overnight for you.

On the subject of the roof. When you drove it down from rockhampton did you notice if the top of the windscreen moved back and forth at highway speeds? Makeing the roof move too and the back of the cap shake.

    No........
Why would it do that unless the windscreen securing bolt in each corner wasnt ancored properly.
The engine is like a tractor making the whole LandRover shake but you get to love these beasts.

If you're going to the dealer closest to Smithfield, let me know & I'll get them a bit cheaper for you .
