Is there a trick to changing them or just pop the old ones off and push on the new ones?
Don't forget to liberally lube them, Regards Frank.

    Thanks for all the tips!

I have a haynes manual which is good for the clearance setting but only mentions the caps in relation to rebuilding the head.

For lube just use engine oil?

To remove the old caps can it be done by just leavering them off with a screwdriver when arm is in the highest position? (Eg no having to dismantle anything?)

Thanks in advance as I hope to do this at the weekend!

mate, there are two ways to replace them, one is remove the rocker gear, but you need an angle adapter when re-tensioning the rocker post bolts, or wind the rocker adjusters all the way back and just lift the caps off.

BTW, replace all of them and just lube them with engine oil.

Those little buggers are known for brinelling and failing.

I was wondering because the head was only done about 40K k's ago. Would have thought they would last longer than that, although wouldn't put it past the dealer to have reused old parts, even if it's only about $30 retail
