I like em, classic not plastic

If you need doors I'd jump at them - the main difference is elbow rather than leg room, and the difference is less than with the push button handles. But noticeable - I regularly drive both a 2a and a 110.

don't need 'em i just lke 'em and they're being offered at a good price. just can't make up my mind.

Your existing doors, if in good condition, are probably highly saleable - as I commented in another thread, most Australians live close to the coast, so a good proportion of Landrovers that old need new doors!

If it's only the window mechanism thats causing you hassles why not invest in an electric window kit?

I doubt it is only the winder - the doors with windup windows are about 50mm thicker than the sliding window doors - and changing to an electric winder will do nothing to change this. Even at the top of the door, the windup glass is set about 2cm inside the outer skin, where the fixed glass is flush and the sliding glass only about 1cm in.

Personally i have found that the extra space gained by having sliding window (which is not alot anyway) it out weighed by the pain of the sliding windows and the better option of the wind up windows
So i would keep what you have got.

I'm with Reads90 on this - the sliding glass only allows 1/2 the opening so poking your head out to look isn't very easy. While the door intrudes a little, it's the seating position that makes the bigger difference IMHO - I notice I tend to sit a little further left in the Series machines than the 110. If yours is an early model, Jasper, think about moving the seat left into the Defender position to get more elbow and knee room.

Reads. don't forget that the original plan was to steer from the centre position - that would have solved any elbow room problems immediately.
