I'd be in overalls under the SIII while everyone else was having a cold beer around the fire.

Provided you tour with the mindset that the series landy will require more attention than a newer landy, I think you can still enjoy the adventure. And it adds a lot of character to your photos & stories.

I agree that if you have the right mindset and some mechanical skills it CAN be done and be an enjoyable adventure. I've also travelled long distances in my Series 2A with the Holden and HR transfer but at the end the day, it does take it out of you. These days, air con and the ability to listen to a CD make travel a lot more comfortable, if not somewhat boring.......

X2 have driven a few long distances in the series 3 - still go to councilling for P.T.S.D. I'm getting better - it just takes time.

Perhaps tourer isn't the right word. I'm thinking local, camping, poking around and looking at things. Not thinking around Australia. Truth to tell, I'd probably get a Patrol for that (I'll go wash my mouth out with soap now :D )

A good look over the 2a and sanity has set back in - there's much too much work involved, there's not enough there for a restoration, not enough working stuff to use it as the basis for the buildup.

With a canvas roof, high mounted double bed - I have the design in my head - half Britz camper, half rooftop tent, half crazy.

I can get the pills for PTSD pretty easy, used to work for DVA.

Well you keep taking them pills, and send the old S2a over to me.
