Fender - Hand throttles and footwells

Two quick ones, for my air con to air compressor mod a hand throttle would be really valuable. Whats the best source for one, series, county, other options?
And second, has anyone considered or converted a passenger and driver footwell vent system ala 40 series tojo???? Ive got a few ideas but just seeing if anyone has done it. Big footwell vents great on road, not too bad when your the lead vehicle, prob best to shut them when fording!

    anyhow, thanks

Those Tojo foot vents love to scoop up bees and wasps and throw them at your legs.

I'll be watching this thread closely, I too would like to know. I have considered using a wind-on hand throttle from an early 80's diesel Hilux, would this be plausible?

hmmm, when i drove the "new" 130 up from Kiama to Cairns i think the final count was two flies, one hornet and a native bee all throught he front vents all alive and rather angry... it amazed me that they got past the mesh, the only space was where the operating lever runs???
Surely this just adds to the "at one with the environment" culture that going bush is fostering ?
Any vent I put in will be grilled for buggeries

would a picture be too hard to ask???? if i can not sully the 130 with tojo bits id be happy!!!

Another thought i was contemplating was a marine vent with the rotating seal inside. Face the vent scoops backwards for suction or forward for ram air (experiment for best effect) then can dial it shut when need be... also they come in stainless for that little bit of bling!

I don't know about fitment - certainly would be problematic with a TD5 - but the County's often had a hand throttle fitted. You should be able to locate one at an "auto parts recycler"

As for the vents - there was/is an alleged US Army SWB Landie on ebay Australia (don't get me started) that has some - find the thread and follow the link.

    Easy
Use a V8 choke cable and place on where the V8 choke cable goes on the Defender (On the cloum under the steering wheel right hand side, You will find a hole ,maybe with a rubber gromit in it. )

Then just pull out and twist to the speed you want. easy and cheap to do
We put them on Diesel winch challenge trucks to keep the revs up while winching
