Thread: Defender heater blower

My blower works. But it is either on or off and doesn't clear the screen. In wet weather it is a real pain. I thought at one stage I had worked it out ie full heat on the windscreen with the A/C blowing cold air on my knees, and the front vents slightly open. But last weekend none of that worked and I had to have both front windows half way down to keep the windscreen clear. How does anyone else do it?

if you turn it on to heat the screen and it fogs up even worse.....
then you definitely have water in the air box......which you are heating up and blowing onto your screen as steam......
clean out the air box......as a bonus......the air coming into the cabin will smell fresher as well.....

if yours doesnt have it theres a simple mod that can be done that nets you a vacuator valve on the air box for the heater so you dont get the problem again...

Its ver yvery fiddly but worth doing I did it to the disco before I flogged it and unless I was fording with the blower on never hada problem with it not draining out.
