hey its a remake of the magnetic cups that were supposed to do the same thing back in the late 80's early 90's...

    Bunkum I say.

Theres a mythbusters special on this very subject...

The only thing I ever saw that made any difference to fuel consumption was advertised for $15 and was a book available at most libraries with a title something along the lines of...

"modifying your driving technique to ensure effecient operation"

all up the book was about 40 double sided pages and covered basics of vehicle operations and why certain things worked better for different engines.

Went to Primex this morning ( the northen rivers version of AGquip) at Casino, the snake oil sellers were there in force, the oil friction modifiers and the fuel savers. That one that has the pellets was there, i heard the guys spiel and looked at it and when he quoted the price to some bloke, walked away. couldn;t see how some metal would make your diesel for petrol engine more efficient.

Who remembers the bloke form the old royal easter show, with the 'Stromberg master Condensor' he must have made a fortune showing people how to run a v8 on one cylinder.

Someone (JDNSW?) needs to explain tothem what a catalyst is.

"Additionally, the metal alloy catalyst in PROZONE cleans and coats vulnerable surfaces of your engine's valves, valve seats and piston rings to prevent overheating, aid sealing and enhance engine lubrication."

I'm interested to know how it does that without being altered itself - which is what I always understood "catalyst" meant.

I wonder what sort of milage a TD5 would get off snake oil?

    It's a renewable resource.

And if harvested from snakes during the heat of the day in summer, would have additional energy stored in it...

    ...surely?

I believe the prozone units the ones fitted between the fuel filter (in the engine bay) and the carby. My father has one on his P76 motor fitted in an 88 rangie. We have no idea how it works but after it the car was dyno tuned by Brisbane Turbo and Tuning, they commented that the car was running better with the unit fitted

Pretty sure I got one fitted in the Alfa also

Where'd the hiclone thread go? That was hilarious!

    How much is a prozone?
If you fit ten, then you should reduce your fuel consumption by 100%... gotta love logic.

sometimes science doesnt match reality or should i say percieved reality.

i know of several vw engines that run better eg more hp, when using that tin beads catalyst that is around, it could be prozone, i dont know. when my son was doing custom vw head work he didnt believe it either till he saw it on dynos when they were doing design and testing work for an ultralight engine package.

no one had any explaination other than its gotta be bull****, but the readings were in their face on at least 3 separate engines :P
