    Question Zeus gears - 200tdi

While doing the weekly flick through ebay I noticed a set of Zues gears to suit a 200tdi Disco, what "the" is the difference between a 200tdi Defender and 200tdi Disco in the timing gear area.

IIRC there is no difference but you might want to do a search for Zeus here before you go any further...

I have noted some of the previous threads on the Zues gears, I am not that keen on pulling anything of the motor after all the work I have done, the better half would kill me.
I was just interested in the difference, thanks for the reply

The Tdi engines in the fender and disco's are all the same. But as Mark says stay clear of Zues, not wanting to do the work isnt a bad thing in this case.

Actually the 200Tdi engines in the defender are different to the disco ones, The timing case is a different shape, they take different length timing belts and the defender doesen't use an idler due to the shorter belt length.

That is why the Zeus gear set is different between defender and disco in the 200 Tdi series. ALL 300 Tdi's are the same.

Would a 200tdi out of a Disco fit in the engine bay of Fender ???

Hi Lucas, Apparently not, as the timing case and the turbo and manifolds are completely different in the fender. The trans is also offset slightly and there are a few other differences. I can see why they standardised things with the 300 series, makes for an easy parts production line!!
