    Leyland 4.4 Terrier specs

I can't find anything on the net about specs of these motors except,

The engine number starts with: 4417/**** which i have
    They have a lower compression
Are the tune up specs the same as a standard P76 4.4????

I once had a chat with a p76 nut who had used terrier truck pistons in his p76 engine as a performance mod so it seems that some things may be interchangeable.

AFAIK P76 and Terrier were the same except for pistons and bearing material and maybe cam.
But I think the block, heads etc were all interchangeable.

I once read that volvo piston's were the go as they have floating pins and are forged.A P76 nut I talked to at a car show told me that was one of the tricks they use in hotted engines. Pat

I have a terrier in the range rover. Do a google seach and outer limits have a bit of info. Its a lower compression engine with more torque. Depending on who you talk to its better than the p76. Heads from a 3.5 are better. 253 holden pistons fit. The engine can be taken to 5L. Parts are available.

Well that sucks about the thread size, Is there anyways to make it easyer in the future for things like this? As in bolt on rover items???
