    Wink 95 HSE Rangie - AB Suspension problem

    Hi fellow members......

    I am a new user, and hope someone is kind enough to help me out here.

    I bought this 95 Rangie, but the suspension "sags" on the front right (by half an inch), and the rear right by a quarter inch.

    It looks dickey, and can't be right of course.

    The seller said it's all good, and that you can adjust them - but I dont see how you can!

    You can only adjust both front or both rear at any one time it seems....

    Does anyone know what I can do here to straighten the car out?

    I assume it still has the EAS? How are you adjusting just the front or just the back? Dooes it have an aftermarket inflation kit on it?

    You need to hook it upto a testbook or similar computer and have the EAS calibrated if its out as far as I know. Could be wrong

    Apparently the Computer has been disconnected, and it is now run manually...... sounded a bit dodgey but you are probably right...

    I may need to take it in, and get things calibrated etc.....

    How I do it: Flick the switch to front or back wheel, and then press inflate or deflate, and manually guess what height is suitable.

    Both left and right sides whould lift/lower at the same pace, but it seems that the front right gets less air or something..... causing it to sit lower.

    Also same with the rear right - not quite AS bad....

    Really frustrating!

    ahhh so you have some sort of home brew or after market setup on the eas - trust me you will never get it exactly level I have tried heaps of times Plus one bag will leak slowly and others wont etc......

    can't comment at all really as your setup could be anything....

    Where abouts are you?

    If the computer has been disconnected, then there's no point in taking it in for calibration.

    I wonder what sort of control system you've now got?

    Geez thanks for your comments.....

    Well, the ECU has indeed been disconected, as I was told today by the previous owner that the ECU was the actual cause of previous airbag problems...... ouch!

    Anyway, its turned off, and the airbags can only now be inflated-deflated manually..... but the question remains:

    Why is the front right sagging as soon as I pump the bags up? It looks silly, and I really want to get to the bottom of it-

    Easy Fix and better.
    If they converted it to manual.
    Rip it out and fit Coils and Shocks.

    Cheap and then you can have some real Fun.

    Manual inflation is an emergency system only. You do NOT want it on a daily basis.

    I suggest you have a leak in an air line O-ring at the valve block (if still fitted) or the suspension unit itself, or the suspension bellows is leaking (not uncommon after a few years). They are replaceable as either a complete air spring (aftermarket) or as just the bellows (aftermarket). If you are paying a mechanic, do the complete unit as it is time-consuming to replace the bellows alone and the mechanics charges will chew up the diference in price.

    You need to either fix the EAS properly or replace the supension with coil springs.

    The ECU may be OK, it's more likely to be the valve block driver module that's faulty. They do fail.
