pete...had 15 x 7 sunnies on my s3,and second hand or new 15" tyres were hard to come by,found myself climbing over piles of 16" tyres.
bought a second hand set of series 1 disco steels wheels 16x7
they look ok on the series and are similar kg rated i think?
and 16" tyres more size options as well.

Anything from another Land Rover product through to the Disco 2 will fit, as will "classic" RR wheels. I've had 15x7s with 31x10.5 tyres and I wouldn't bother again - I think the taller tyres are better and 7.50 or 235/85 are reasonable with steering weight.

A lot use Disco rims for the little extra track width. SWB rims are probably best avoided for the opposite reason (narrow track). The Defender 130 rims with holes in them are argualbly the best rims for track and strength, but they are like hens teeth second-hand and pretty expensive new (compared to the cost of the Stage 1).

I run S1 Disco steels, modified to have 30 mm extra offset. Fitted with 285/75x16 tyres. But my setup is for traction and stability offroad. The wider tyres and extra offset make steering a bit heavier.

Plenty of people I know have run stock disco rims with 235/85x16s. They are slightl;y wider than the stock 7.50's. If you can fit them and want a bit more clearance offroad, 255/85x16 also work well.

on a s111 ex army i used to own i loved reversed disco s1 wheels (16x7) with 255/85/16 BF M/T's. i then traded up to Q78's on the disco wheels. q78 used to be run at 12 psi on the rover wheels ( truck had no top, was very light.)
33's on 15 x 8's seem popular and cheap second hand.
