Just for family protection. Saw a defender roll over and didn't like what I saw!

google safety devices UK and have a look, many detailed pics of various types, eg nas spec, truck cab, full internal, full external, external cab internal load space, motorsport, the list goes on.
i've allways liked the look of the nas spec cages on 90's.
swaggi (chris) on the lrocv site has an army/perentie?? roll cage/bars for sale to suit a soft top defender. maybe the remlr guys could post pics of military bars and cages??

just caught the last post, if its for family protection make it padded or external, take it from an ambo you DON'T want heads hitting bars or any metal in a rollover or any collision.

Watching this thread closely as a cage is next on the list for me....

Wazza i would be very keen on seeing the mounting points.

I wrote a similar thread about a year ago now, looking primarily for an inside/ouside cage like those made by safety devices... some photos off the web in my gallery here:

I thought maybe something, read: relatively inexpensive and simple like the Series 3 here:http://www.aulro.com/afvb/showthread.php't=39632

I know, I know, it won't stand up to a massive rollover, but really, what will?. It should offer some protection, maybe enough for the occupants to survive, and can be strengthened with internal work. Also takes the wieght off the gutters, if you carry on the roof.

cross bars to form a triangle for internal hoops are necessary for roll over protection. without internal triangulation the cage is just bling or a 'sports bar'. very simple roll cage theory.
look on outerlimits at the county duel cab just built by cheezy, very nice cage with roof sliders as well (let alone the ls7 4l80e coil-overs atlas, but pootrol diffs. TOO MUCH MONEY
