The later guards curve in at the top - so no luck there, I'm afraid.
My series 1 comes from an era when people put their names on the side of the car - my drivers side front outside guard has the name of the last registered owner, the town, the name of another previous owner and the name of a property that the car once resided. If I take all the dints out, straighten the panel and paint then this piece of the cars history will be lost. I would prefer to take the panel off and keep it as it is and put in a new one.
Can anyone tell me whether the front outside guard panel (the wheel arch) for an 88" series one is the same as that on a series 2 or series 3 - these are common and realatively cheap.
Thanks
Garry

You could keep your eyes open for another panel, but unfortunately this is one of the panels most likely to be damaged - and given that there were about four different shapes in Series 1s, your chances of finding the right one is fairly slim, although at least your model is probably the most common.
If you check with the UK Series 1 Register it is possible that they are getting panels made, or know of some new old stock.
