Cant say ive ever seen that before.![]()
I had a photo shown to me the other day and I've been racking my brains ever since, then thought, ask someone here!!!
It was a series 2 or 2a dash, the guages were oil pressure, water temp and battery voltage, but in the middle of it all was a small tacho. It was definately all smiths/ yaeger, and the tacho needle was the same as the other pointers, indicating OE surely.
Has anyone seen this on a series before? The vehicle also had twin tanks, some interesting striping and paint, and extra headlamps etc.
Any info? I might try and get a copy back of the photo and scan it.

didn't the gauges from some jags / minis fit straight in? same make and style. its a vague thing floating around in my head, could be wrong
Never seen one like that. ALL SII/IIA landies had 2 big round guages speedo/odo in one, and temp/fuel in the other. Military landies had a 2" smiths oil pressure guage as well (instead of the warning light IRC) - but it isn't mounted in the dash.
Early series 1's had about 3-4 small guages, but I am sure no tacho.
Sounds like a really well done home job. Not uncommon to replace the fuel/temp combo guage with a Tacho and add small individual guages.

Tacho and gauges may have been out of a Rover car.

Actually, what I meant was it still had the standard s2 dash with the two big round instrument clusters, in the middle of the non speedo one there is a neat factory looking tacho. Definately looks standard or at least LR aftermarket etc, I'll try and get that pic...
