well i have noticed it before but since i put the tjm front bar on it has been more pronounced and is getting worse.
it is mainly noticeable at very low speed and at 90-95kph
at 95kph it is a low pitched rumble that vibrates the cab and windows just enough to be noticeable
at less than 5kph till it rolls to a halt it is a very distinct notchy vibration / light shuddery skipping sensation that appears to me to be coming from the rear.
any idea what the most likely candidate for this little wallet emptying episode would be ?

Loose nut on a shock absorber?
Wearing Uni?
Loose pinion nut on a diff?
make sure you let us know when you find out.
Dave,
Hop under and loosen off the parkbrake adjuster, situated at 6 o"clock on the parkbrake backing plate when viewed from the front of the vehicle to the back. It is a 17mm (11/16") socket size, and I would back it off at least 3 to 4 full turns and then try it. If this is it, then you undoubtably have oil contaminated parkbrake shoes, and they are dragging, causing a vibration especially worse when slowing for a stop. The best fix is to replace the output flange with a 'flange kit' comes with flange, seal, locknut and felt washer. Alan at British4x4 sells them, but I forget the price ATM. I usually go down this route with these because if the new seal leaks due to the seal surface wear on the output flange, you'll have to replace the park brake shoes AGAIN and do it all again....you get the picture.
(Of course those threads should be in 'recommended suppliers',Dohh!)

Kinda sounds like wheel bearings on the way out as well as another possibility?

I had the pinion bearings go in the salisbury in my first 110, caused by water (wonder how that got there), sounded like someone in the back with a hammer drill on concrete. To replace the 4 bearings and reset the diff cost $600 at my local landrover specialist, drive in, drive out.

i had the exact same thing.........as much as it annoyed i used to ignore it, months later over two weekends i replaced all the suspension bushes and the t-case output seal......i straight away notices all the suspension knocks, bangs, bumps etc gone and when i slowed up the little shutter just as i was about to come to a stop was goneone happy man
well the output seal started to leak within a week and the shutter did not return, this time around a brought new shoes, flange and seal.....no more leaks, no more shutter
i reckon it was the suspension bushes, could be wrong
hmmmmmmmmm
interesting scope of replies.....
hope i get over this lurgi shortly so i can start crawling under the thing and see what i have to fix......
