Just got my Rave disc friday. And reading through it, there are "O" ring seals connecting the heater core to the pipes, might be these.
Funny thing is, as I type this, an Add is flashing at the top of the screen about Coolent alarms. Spooky![]()
My wife started the car after work to come home and noticed a strange pumping noise from the left hand side of the car and at the same time she noticed a pool of water on the passenger side floor.
The car only ran for a few seconds so she shut it down and got it towed home.
When i got home i looked at the coolant level and yep, its gone. To dark to really see much, but would this be a heater hose or something like it under the dash that has failed??
The pumping sound intrigues me though, would this be because the resevoir is empty and its pumping dry?![]()

after looking at it in the daylight, things have changed somewhat. Still leaking onto the floor, but it looks clear, not coolant color. Is this to do with the air con drain holes, or the heater perhaps.
No loss of coolant in the tank as first thought.
my eyes are apparently not as good as i thought.![]()
if its clear,,,
can only be rain or air con,,
coolant would be red,

I had this problem last night. The disappearing/reappearing coolant.
I checked my coolant in the dark and couldn't see any. So I stuck my finger in as far as I could and didn't feel any
However this morning I checkled it and all is well. The normal level is just well below the top of the container
As for your leak I'd be guessing aircon drain. My Disco doesn't do it but my last Rodeo did it all the time. First hint was a sloshing/gurgling/bubbling sound. Then wet floor if I didn't unblock the drain hose in time.
Having read the initial thread,,,,, The heater core o rings etc are on the drivers side, so the heater won't be the culprit. yes I agree the AC is most likely it, and to unblock on a D2 you have to crawl underneath, look up above the transmission at the front end of the tunnel and you'll see two(one on each side of the gearbox) rubber drains poking down through the floor. Grab one and squeeze etc like milking a cow, it'll then drip mud and water out of it all over you or down your sleeve....These need to be checked regularly in winter, as when the AC starts getting a workout in summer they will already be blocked...
On a Td5, be careful not to burn your arm on the exhaust when clearing the LH one

Thanks gents,
Will crawl under today and check out the drain holes.
May have just saved me alot of grief.
Thanks again.
