    300tdi engine cover

    is there a need to keep the rubber engine cover on??

    i left mine off after i checked the tappet adjustment to make sure there is no leaks

    Just designed to cut down the noise I would say.

    thought it might be integeral to the cooling of the engine or maintaining engine temp

    no noticable noise increase in the defender

    naa, it's an acoustic cover mate.
    Left mine off a few times and is a touch more noisy.

    yes, over the howl of the muddies and the 3" exhaust sans muffler, plus the original Landy noise.....

    I just picked one up second hand, they fit the 200 Tdi as well.
    Made a fair bit of difference to that.
