    110 minor problem

Started servicing the County for the trip to Sydney next weekend (it will be over mileage by the time I get back).

Found the bush at the back of the LH rear lower link has had it. I do not have a replacement, and can't reliably get one in time, so I am putting in one I took out previously (when I changed both). Not new but should work OK for a few weeks until I get another one. This explains the slight steering wander - this morning I got the next door neighbour to wiggle the steering wheel while I looked for the play in a tier rod end - but found none.

I can arrange to get one for you to take back with you, if you like JD.

Do you know the part no.?

I wonder if I can press it in for you on the weekend?

    Thanks Ron,

No - I don't have a 110 parts book, but I think they are the same for all 90/110/Defender and probably Classic RR and Disco 1. The bush I am after is the rear one on the trailing arm or lower link at the rear. I should not have to fit it down there - the one I fitted today should work for a few weeks, although I might bring with me my fitting tool just in case.

I was hoping one of the commercial dealers at the Expo might be carrying some stock.

    Yep, I know the one.

If you want me to, I'll order it tomorrow. If it is the same, my local LR specialist will probably have it in stock. Alternatively, Scouse might be able to supply one on the day.

Won't you need a bloody big press to remove/refit? I know I did when I did my '86 RR bushes. I took them to Range Parts to get done.

I'll check the parts books. The Defender/Disco 1/late RR classic (I haven't checkjed early RR) part is NTC1772 Bush, lower link. So assume the County is the same.

If you think Scouse can supply one on the day that will be OK. I have a tool made using a threaded rod with dies to fit the bushes - works OK unless the bush is well and truly rusted in, and seeing I just fitted a second hand one with plenty of antiseize, that won't be a problem. But I don't expect to have to fit it down there anyway.
