    Thumbs up

I have just picked up an Eaton M45 for the freelander, ill let you know how it goes! I have quad throttle bodies and an intercooler organised too, so it should prove to be a little bit of fun!

Im still scratching my head trying to work out why anyone would need a Landrover to take off like a rocket and go faster than the 130km/h which is now the max in aust.

But then again, I still cant understand why people will pay $200 in fuel to drive to work for a week either but maybe Im a bit strange.

As far as AC in summer and SC in winter, you seem to think that Mad Max blower switch was true, it can be done but it does stuff up your intake air flow and give you massive power loss or else you would have to remove it and then you start having serious problems with tuning etc etc.

Good one mate, I needed a good laugh....

If anyone wants to have a serious discussion on the pros, cons, and problems of adding a supercharger to a stock naturally aspirated engine, then PM me.

You won't need the big run ups for the hill climbs anymore

If its an AC replacement SC, it will be a centrifugal SC, which has much lower draw through pressure drop compared with a roots (fixed displacement) type, which is what ol' Max has. A MoTeC will allow for instant map change, so like 3 secs with a laptop and you can be running your NA software. It does sound a little strange to alternate, i would just use both.

And a good tune will keep the same fuel eficiency, unless of course it good weather and you stomp it! In fact, adjusting cam timing and electronic tune may actually increase efficiency, assuming a steady driver.

Theres way too much to contemplate to palm them off immediately!

In regards to the Gen III motors or any other motor etc, do you have to modify them at all for offroad use, as when you read about some of the motors in 4X4's they say they have been water proofed a lot more and have been designed more for different off-road angles etc so the oil doesn’t sit in one area !

I havnt had anything to do with centrifugal supercharges and tell me if Im wrong but I heard they are only good for top end HP and in that case, it wouldnt be much good for a 4b.

It makes sense about the Motec but still seems strange to me why you would want to put something on to your engine just to want to take it off, thats all I was saying.

    Because you can, Fair enough
