Justinc the hydraulic fitter I have been talking to has a couple of ideas on how to do this.Using a 12volt hydraulic pump which would suit me because my stage1 is a ute I can put the oil tank and pump under the tray the pump is approx 80mm dia 200mm long and then connecting the hydraulic motor to the winch drive. The other reason why this would suit me is I can set it up with a ram and turn the ute into a tipper.I will have variable winching speed and he thinks he should be able to set it up so I can use an rf remote like a lot of hiabs use now.Any way we are still in the planning stage but he is a hydraulics guru so I will let you know how it works out but it will take a while.

Thomas winch company at Moorooka were pretty cool about any enquiry relating to a landrover pto winch when I rang a couple of years ago. They denied even holding parts.
