No mick, there the same, the one i have is from a V8 (this is shaft No 4) it's all sorted now and being fitted with greasable unis.

    Thanks all, Baz.

    Question part numbers etc

Has anyone who's done this themselves got some part numbers and brand names for greasable uni joints? Was going to buy a few and press em in, but dont want to take mine apart for identification till I have replacements...

From memory the double cardan joint that Slunnie sourced is a larger and stronger unit than stock rover. Hence the price.

Hardy Spicer used to list K5-L4R for the single unis in Disco & RR tailshafts but now list a HD version K5-A757. I've put the HD ones into my DC.

Thats exactly it John. The factory spec rebuilt with all greasable unis and the centre was costing me about $550 or something from Metropolitan driveshafts in Granville, and about $650-$750 or similar for a new shaft. The shafts I run now are Tom Woods from the USA and for the pair cost me about $US389 + freight with 1310 unis all round and an adaptor for the transfer end. With the dollar at the moment you'd be crazy not to import and it was here within a few days!
    Cheers
    Slunnie
