Thread: SIIA LWB Tray Design

No Series Landrover tray was factory made - they were all made by local body builders, and hence came in quite a variety of designs. I cannot recall ever seeing a S2a with a wooden framed tray, although I'm sure they did exist. Certainly the early 2a tray top I had in the sixties had an all steel tray, so I can't say that an all wooden one is traditional - it probably depends very much on which part of the country it comes from. Art the end of next week I am getting a S3 tray and can send you photos of it in possibly two weeks.

I've got a steel-framed tray with a wooden floor on my 2A. It should be a dropside tray but the sides are missing.

I can photograph the way it mounts to the chassis if you like.

I'll be removing it soon to clean up the rear half of the chassis. If you were nearby you'd be welcome to take pics and measurements.

Weren't you coming up here soon? You could drop in and take pics (but it may not be off by the time you get here).

i am up for a wedding later in aug (Thursday 23rd) night Dinner @ Malabar in Crows Nest.

I also have to head up in Roly's Hilux at some stage to get the axles and motor from Slunnie.

Photosa would be great, I am thinking a steel frame with wooden decck is the go.

Time to brush up on my welding skills.

The body is still in a million pieces as I am still sanding. It is a slow process!

Mine has a steel frame with wooden boards and sides.
