    TD5 Disco 2 Wheel Bearings

Planning on spare stocking for a Cape York Trip next year and I thought carrying some spare wheel bearings might be handy as I have 200K on the clock. Rang the stealer to find out front and rear hubs are different and expensive $468.00 each. I will look at a different source. Looking at RAVE these appear to a little involved in effecting a replacement in the bush at the side of the road. Has any one had to replace the wheel bearing hubs on a Disco 2?

I have a few used hub/bearings with fairly low km on them if you're going via Sydney.
They'd be relatively easy to change as they're the complete unit.

Ron, I can safely say it's one of the rare P38a parts that I have never raised a warranty claim against !!!!

If I come across more than 4, I'll save you one .

I happen to have one old front hub and CV from a P38A that had a bearing collapse. I thought about fitting a new bearing to make it a spare...

When I did the suspension balljoints a few weeks back, I checked the front hub bearings and they were still tight with no discernible play. Unfortunately they can't be lubed.

Thanks for the offer Scouse. I think the Clubs planned route is from Adelaide to Innamincka and up. If I get a chance to be in Sydney with work and you still have the bearings I'll take you up on the offer.

Don't you only need 3 - the rears are the same left and right?
