Poly-Bushes in Disco 2

I have got rubber all round but have changed a couple of polys they are SOOOOOOOooooooo easy to do.
Next time my front radius arm rubbers need doing that's whats going in.

I wonder if they wear quicker or slower to rubber?

all things being equal, poly is very good in compression, (think chassis end of rear lower trailing arms on D1, RRC, 'fender) not as good in rotation.

If the durometer is too hard, they are bad.

Over twenty years ago I had Nolathane machine me up some shackle bushes for my CJ6 Jeep. They lasted less than six months. Went back to OE rubber and they were still on it in good condition when it went to its new owner years later.

For shock bushes my Bilstein rubbers lasted a few weeks (admitted hard use) and my Rancho urethanes have been in for years - outlasting even the metal heim joints.

Years ago i tried a set of poly bushes in my rangie even though most said not to, and now i know why, i found them not only harsh but they actually wore out quicker than the oe rubber ones. And when i went to put rubber back in i had to melt the suckers with an oxy to get them out and cut one of the radius arm bolts as it had siezed.
Only good place for them is in the panhard rod especially if your ps leaks. Dirt and gravel find their way in between the bushes and grind out the bush and the grease they supply doesnt last long once submerged.
