heres my mudpit cheapo botch job. $5 plastic cupboard tray that fits on inside of door to hold packets of soup etc with a peice of ply cut to fit and a large u bracket made up that screws down into the vent on top of radio. has an oil pressure guage, EGT guage and nanocom. and all up took about 15 mins to make and mount.

oh, and it has a mount on top to put my camera. i gutted a cheap $10 mini tripod, took the mount thread and fixed it to the top of the pod. makes for good movies out 4x4ing

Here's my MUD console before installation...

I've installed an LCD screen in it for my car PC, I'm planning to neaten up the LCD cutout with some flexible grommet. I just bought an 8" LCD from Ebay and threw out the casing and mounted all in the MUD console.

That left room for a row of Carlingswitches accross the top, a Hella socket and the original rear wiper switch.

I cut out the hole in my dash with the Dremmel fine cutting disc.

We'll after about 18 months of my Mud Dash sitting in its box, I finally got around to installing it.

I was originally going to use the Carling switches but they are so expensive. In then end, I used a $4.50 Narva switch that had the added advantage of only needing a 12mm hole to mount. Very easy, 30A 12V, less space than Carling = more switches.

So far I have switches for F&R Air locker, Spots, Rear Work light, Rear wiper & Rear washer. I have some change over switches as I want to be able to run my EMS2 off main or Aux battery to monitor either battery.

I'm leaving the top angled part free for some more gauges to come later

I put the radio on the lowest part of the dash to I can support it easily at the rear as I'm worried about support on corrugated roads. The downside is that I can only change CDs if in neutral or gears 2,4 and R. Not a big deal to me.

Yeah I STILL haven;t installed mine as I am still torn about which way to go with mounting the radio. If I could decide that I;d do it ASAP !

I really need to find a reliable way to solidly support the radio to the dash in the topmost position. Ideas ?
