I have one made by a bloke up on the sunshine coast. He calls himself "RONOS roof console's".
He makes them from fibre glass and will put as many pod's or speaker holes as you want. He will also ask you what brand of radio's you are using as he also makes them to fit.
They run across the top of your windscreen and not length ways so the dont have a large storage area but can hold two radios and speakers nicely. Then enough room for your car's user manual.

I will try to find his number.

    Snap.

consoles for defenders these days are made by a mob called department of interior or something to that effect. i priced one here in newcastle last week actually. both the shef across the topof the windscreen and the consle down the middle of the roof are $310

it depends why you want it. i want a console so i can get my radios out of the middle and put th middle seat back in, as it comes in handy occasionally. this pretty much limits me to the shelf that runs across the windscreen, as the console that runs north-south comes down as far as the top of the back window. thus leaving five eights of bugger all head room for middle seat passenger/co driver/ gear changer.

once i've sorted gearbox dramas and made the purchase/fitment, i'll post some pics..maybe..

    they're an excellent idea though
