Just a mental note I want to publish, so I can find it in the future.

I serviced my MY 02 D110 Xtreme the other week using:

    Air : ESR4238
    Fuel : ESR4686
Oil 1 : ERR6299 - use Genuine ONLY in the Centrifugal filter
    Oil 2 : LPX100590 (Z1353)

    Lubrication:

    Diffs : Penrite 80W90
Transfer : Penrite Transaxle 75 Synth
Gearbox : Penrite Manual Gear Oil 75W80 Synth
Engine : Penrite HPR5 Semi Synth
Unis etc : Penrite Lithium grease

    Cheers

Just wanted to say a big thx, I'm pushing for 80k service in a few weeks, and have been wandering "what to put into what"......

Now time and work are keeping me extremely busy and I was toying putting the Box in for service to jump over the hassle, until I got a quote for the Job...

    This info is much appreciated.........

I think SYN GEAR 75/90 is the correct oil for the transfer. (and the diffs if you want a synthetic, but 80W90 hypoid is fine) or is this what you meant?

    Cheers,

    Lionel

synthetic gear oil 75/90 is a generic name... If you shuffle the words and the letters and add penrite you get

    penrite 75 synthetic.

Its a bit like how the military Quies name things.. a folding chair becomes chair folding

and a 12mm Ring oe spanner becomes

spanner,12mm metric, bi hex and single 15 degree offset open ended .

I gave up trying to learn Q names for stuff and would usually just walk on in and grab one and say "I want one of these."

I know you're only trying to be funny , but Penrite 75 Synthetic and SYN GEAR 75/90 are different oils, and are listed as such on the Penrite web-site. He said he put in Penrite 75 synthetic, and I was pointing out that it is, in fact, NOT what Penrite recommend for the transfer box.

It will suffice, but it is not the recommendation.

    Cheers,

    Lionel

I did use Penrite Transaxle 75 Synth - but will be playing around with these oils in the coming months to get what I want.

My transfer in the D110 makes more noise than the Rangie - so maybe worth putting some Morey's in also.

Effectively this was a 80k service, mine had 72k on it but had just bought it so wanted to give it the business.

I also change my oil every 5k - so will be due again soon!!!

actually i was being serious, the work cheat sheet I occasionaly work off of has the penrite (among others) listed as suitable for any ground application requireing synthetic gear oil 75wt.

The rest of the post was for humour.
