This can be a common issue & LR issued a bulletin detailing "long life" globes. They're not cheap though but it might be worthwhile checking them out (your dealer will have a copy of the bulletin).
Hi,
I've blown my 8th headlight globe in 4 years on my 2003 Disco, would anyone be able shed some light into why this is happenning. Oddly I seem to be blowing them alternately (left-then-right) once every 6 months. would upgrading the wiring loom fix my problem or make it worst? Oh yeah I have had it checked and the dealer said there was no problems...obviously.
I'm off to buy another pair of globes.
Thanks,

My headlight globes last about 1 year (30,000k) and are always on when driving. I use Hella/Osram/Phillips, but not Narva as they don't like the voltage.

Mine seem to go regularly too. Drives me nuts. Same with the other globes in and around the headlights. Never replaced an indicator though...

Same with mine, never changed them once in the time i have had the Disco.
I've only blown 2 since owning my D2, about 6 years. That said, I've been running Narva 90/100w globes which may be different, and I probably don't do a significant amount of night driving.
Cheers

I do a hell of a lot of night driving and when I first got the rangy, I kept blowing low beam globes and got fed up with changing them.
Tried a few brands and types before trying the Philips Crystal Vision globes I now run.
They last about 4 years and usually have to replace them because they change colour and not because they blow.
You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.
