Update: Delaer has fixed the problem, one of the plugs fell out from behind the light switch.

Get it back Thurs arvo when they bring it back down to Maroochydore. Got a demo disco till then

Dealer has been very good so quite happy with the service and attitude to getting this sorted so 10/10 to them.

Hi Peter, post up your dealer’s name.

We hear enough about the bad ones, it's good to hear about the good ones.

    Cheers.

no news on the engine issue, I am of the opinion it is because I am driving it like a camry driver at the moment. Blame the wife as she said "you are going to drive it like a nice car aren't you . . . "

Anyway we had the demo car for 2 days, same model as ours. It went like a rocket but by end of day 2 it drove same as ours because I was drving it gently. Now I have gotten up ours a couple of times and yes it transforms quite quickly.

Still has the down low hesitation as did the demo. Something LR are still working on apparantly.

The problem with the dash/console lights was the plug falling out of the back of the light switch. Odd but that is what they said. All fixed now.

The dealer is Pacific Land Rover at Maroochydore QLD. Good bunch and bent over backwards to sort my issues.

    cheers
    Peter

Hi Peter, just out of curiosity, have you tried driving in Sports mode.

    Cheers.

yes I have but I should not have to put it in a sports mode to get reasonable performance out of it. Sports mode should be exceptional perfomance, not normal.

Bit like saying put high octane fuel in your engine to make it perform when it should run fine on regular.

LR have acknowledged that the D3 TDV6 has a response issue down low when accelerating out of a corner after slowing right down or stright line after slowing right down.

The word from them is that further s/w patches will be uploaded at the regular servicing intervals.

So is this becoming a fairly common issue with the TDV6 D3 or is this isolated to just a couple of cars.

Hey Pete, when I bought my 'fender back in '98 two different guy's told me not to run the engine in or take it easy or it would be a dog.I took it easy and guess what,it drove like a dog.The rings won't bed in and it will drink oil.Mine did and it took a long time and alot off K's to get over it.It came standard with mobil 1 synthetic which wouldn't have help. Hi Pat,

Why wouldn't Mobil 1 help the engine - just curious as I've put Delvac 1 in both Defenders from new. Just curious -

Thanks -(Don't mean to hijack the thread).
