I went out in the dark and wet last night to measure my TPS voltage. It came back as .24v so I adjusted it (had to remove plastic) to .35. Talk about fine adjustment!

I can't say I really notice any difference. Maybe less lag when you accelerate from idle. Maybe.

As for the rich running I figure it probably isn't really. Probably just me having nothing better to worry about. Perhaps I should put my mind to fisxing all of its oil leaks instead.

Hope your arm isn't too bad Jessie. I assume that relates to your surgery from 1-2 years back?

    Hi Scouse.

You were right. There is definately only one ETC8496 as the part that turned up today was a single prong temp gauge sensor. So as you mentioned in the PM there must be two temp gauge sensor types. One up to end of LA and one MA and onwards.

That sounds like the one for the Dash Temp Gauge & it feeds to Earth.

That's right 4bee. The single connection sensor is the temp gauge on the dash. Just beside the ECU coolant temp sensor on the MA. Not sure where it is on the LA.

Just a point on tuning the AFM.
I do not think you can do it by comparing resistances.
I think you need some sort of CO analyser, or a vacuum gauge.
Every engine will be different with different wear rates of the injectors etc, so the AFM should be set to get a result, not set to a spec and hope the result falls out.

Even on the RH rocker cover of my 3.9 ( which I read yesterday while changing the valley gasket), It says that the AFM mixture should be adjusted to meet the emission compliance requirements, In this case 1% CO, which is much leaner than max vacuum..

I set mine to max vacuum the other day. as yet I do not have a reliable reading of whether my economy is better or worse.

BUt my trusty old Colortune showed blue flame in the chambers at all vacuums and AFM pot settings, so the AFM is only a trimmer so will not affect economy greatly.

I have a big box of new parts
    Brake pads
    A frame ball joint
    Heaps of bushes
    Heaps of seals
    Belt
    Coolant temp sensor

I figure that since Land Rover parts aren't usually just a quick trip down the shop on Saturday morning that I should have my own stock.

I had a look at the Jaycar website and couldn't find a CO analyser so I figured I couldn't afford one.

So my best guess (which isn't very good) will do for today.

I'd love a fully kitted out workshop though. I have learnt more about my Disco in 12 months then I ever learnt about my Rodeo in 5 1/2 years.
