Bosch Starter motor parts
Guys,
I'm in the process of rebuilding my Bosch starter. Where would be the ideal place to purchase replacement brushes and brush holder.
The old ones are looking scuffed and rough. Assume Repco can look after me.
How does one slide the commutator back in to the end cover/base plate whilst keeping all four brushes compressed in their holders?? Not enough fingers.
Any help would be appreciated. Going to tackle the problem tomorrow.

To hold the four brushes whilst reassembling a winch motor I used small cable ties. After assembly you can cut them off.
As for replacement brushes, don't be surprised if Repco can't help - try asking your local auto electrician.
And if the bushes are long enough, gently file them straight - they are only compressed carbon after all.

Filing sounds like the idea. A couple of them are concaved shape where they mate with the commutator. And the cable tie idea is a great one.
Thanks
Muddy
