Its a looong time ago, and now that I recall its probably nearer 8 years since I fitted my Magnacores, but I recall the Magnacore site discussing resistance of the wires, and saying that you cannot measure the resistance of Magnacores or other wire wound wires accurately with an Ohm meter as the spark travelled along the outside of the wire coil and not down the central conductor.
Maybe to be expected but my car has gone 8 years without a single plug related problem.

With high current ignitions, a few thousand ohms/ft is bugger all. If you look at wire suppressed leads, the wire is spiral wound to achieve the suppression characteristics. Yes, straight wire is technically the best, but not even race cars use straight wire anymore.
I have used massive core straight stainless wire leads (no on car computer) and I had the scrutineers looking seriously over my car for the illegal high energy ignition system that was blanking out their electronic scales :D
Thanks for the link Charlie i called gasmaster today and he was going to call me back but im still waiting i called the guys who i ordered the eagle leads off and they had arrived so i went with them at $80 bucks for the set i was happy i also got a new dizzy cap and a set of new ngk plugs il be changing them tomoro and will post what sort of improvements i get il change leads and cap and rotor first and see how much beta it goes then il change the plugs and see if i get any more improvement .....Quote:

Anyway, Eagle leads are excellent. I used to use them on the race car and F100 tow rig with a fairly warm 351C on LPG and high energy ignition. I had Performance Ignitions (Scorcher) in Melbourne build my dizzy (Bosch based) with my specced curve and a Holden spread cap and it worked a treat. The leads were excellent. I was lucky and used to obtain them straight from Eagle, until they finally twigged I wasn't a wholesaler or one of their distributors and they told me to bugger off and go through a distributor :D
Can't fault their business ethics, they were looking after their dealers. ;)
FWIW, Jacobs also used to supply excellent leads, (and brilliant coils ) and Magnecore were always well respected in the race circles I circulated in.
I got about 50,000kms using LPG 98% of the time. iirc NGK web site suggests 60,000. I was robbed!Quote:
