I use Gasmaster but I don't have LPG yet and have never used Magnecore so can't compare.
I just figured that either were overkill for me and the Gasmaster were cheaper.
I have emailed these two companies about HT leads for my 3.9 Disco. One is significantly more expensive than the other, although I am not worried about the price.
Can anyone tell me the relative merits of either? I have dual fuel on the Disco and the performance drops off markedly on LPG after about 20 000km, which seems to be consistent with the HT leads getting old.
Any experience of either is welcome; at the moment I am leaning towards the more expensive Magnecore,
Cheers Chazza

I have used both on Rover and Chev V8's. Cant tell if one is better than the other. I have Gasmaster at present (7 years old) and they are perfect.
I have had magnacore on my 3.9 for 5 years , and they are perfect.

Thanks chaps; I will order some now,

Hi Chazza
Spend the money saved on some really good plugs,If I recall Hang Over(Stevan) found a source of cheap platinum plugs in Perth.
The plugs are as much of a pain with LPG as leads.

Excuse me? Leads "wear out" if you're using LPG??? I could accept that LPG might result in accellerated erosion of plugs (don't imagine why but I could believe it.) but the leads affecting performance after only 20,000km? What gives? How could the fuel in the combustion chamber possibly affect the leads?
I admit I've never had LPG but I've had lots of vehicles with good quality leads that have lasted a hell of a lot longer then 20K km. Sold a Toyota (shushhh!, I didn't say that!) Cressida '92 that had 120,000 km on the original leads - and I only changed the original platinum plugs at 100K because the manual said I should. They looked and still worked perfectly.
Please explain!

Don't think I did say that LPG wears the leads out Leo109. It is, however, a fact that LPG needs a much stronger spark than petrol to initiate the burn. I have found consistently on my car after about 20 000km that it doesn't idle as well when running on gas. I can of course keep the leads on for longer, and I usually do until about 40 000km, when I change them for new ones. I also change the plugs every 10 000km. If I neglect any of the above, unburnt gas ignites in the muffler under high throttle and scares the poo out of me!
HT leads especially the silicon ones deteriorate fairly quickly; the wire-core leads last a lot longer apparently; hence the salient point of my thread - Are these brands all right? I am also keen to try Iridium spark plugs mentioned by someone else; every little bit helps when the aim is to get the best spark possible.
How normal "rope core " wires wear out is that the conductor is usually coated on the strands of rope.
Pulling the leads off, and vibration from the engine can cause some of the coating to loosen and then gaps to form in the conductor.
A wire wound core wire like a Magnacore has a very tightly wound wire "spring" around a central rope core.
The electricity travels over the surface of the wire .
So They are stronger in materials, and unlikey to unravel and cause gaps, and subsequent high resistance.
This is aside from the quality fo the insulator. Cheap insulation can crack, higher quality insulation is less likely to in the same time frame.
