    Anybody tried a Uniden uh088?

Am looking for a UHF and was hoping that the UH088's built in front speaker is adaquate without having to wire up/mount an extension speaker.
Will be fitted in a D1 300TDi roof console.

    Any opinions would be appreciated

    Jason

    Front Speaker is OK

    Hi,
I have the Uniden GPS/UHF and it has the same speaker in the front. It works AOK for me.

I have this radio in my defender, have it mounted in the centre cubby box facing up. Not quite loud enough in my wagon, but in a Disco should be no problems.

is that the model with the big display on the left side?

If so we have one in our Rodeo, works very well, no volume issues.

I have Uniden UH-090, fits nicely up in the rool console area above the mirror:

Only down side to having it up there.. is rough tracks - the mic sometimes jumps down at you.

    You mean like this

No issues with the volume, only the same problem with the mic in rough terrain but unfortunately for me I put it on the drivers side
