    D2 2nd Battery location

Looking to fit a 2nd Battery system to my D2 04 Td5, have the wiring sizes and charging controller mostly worked out (work in the field so am quite able to calculate voltage drops etc, which will obvously changed dependant on final install location for the battery).

What I am hoping people might be able help with is where they have put their 2nd battery. I know there is a tray from ARB etc which can be installed in the rear left of the engine bay. This one worries me due to the heat from the turbo. I am also aware of people having installed sealed batteries in one of the rear storage compartments. I have also looked at the possibility of installing it up under the rear righthand side guard, obviously in a suitable metal box.

I am lucky enough to have access to a workshop to weld up brackets etc so can be creative with final solution.

    Any ideas would be appreciated.

I've got mine in a rear bin, but here are some that have been done by other people. They are not me, and unfortunately I cant recall who the pics are from.

Do a search for Dual Battery and you will pick up heaps of info.

I have just completed mine in a D2 and I placed a 120 amp/h battery in the drivers side storage bin.

Fits like a glove and plenty of power

There is a pic on it somewhere and I think there is a thread on it in the Common Thread section.
