    Thanks Andy,
    Apparently they used the dye sniffer thing last time and came up with nothing...took for a run up Greenmount hill and didn't get hot, so...who knows? I'll check the thermo and keep a watch on it and see.

    they can occasionally, apparently airlock themselves if the coolant has lost its protective ability..

    the latent heat in the block boils of the now less than effective coolant and it burps that out into the resivior then when it cools off it sucks a bit of air in giving you the same effect as an initial air lock.

    Ive been told it can happen but IMHO if the resivior is full it shouldnt happen that way as the "lock" should suck in coolant from the resivior.

    Just a thought.

    Good thought Dave, but complete coolant change was done Thursday - so it's all fresh!

    it would just be overfill........as you said......the level is fine........

    if it was low......then you may have reason to worry........




    i was pushing mine hard up at stockton dunes one weekend......a few days after replacing my coolant......
    and it spat some out as well......and hasnt done it since......
    that was about a year ago........


    i just put it down to overfill and left it at that.......



    havent had a problem........

    DZ - mmm, that's what I wanted to hear!!! However...

    Andy, checked the thermo: aircon off, started car, thermo behind grille running.

    Wouldn't have been from yesterday - shops not far enough away, so no way of knowing how long ago that error code was logged.

    Do the faults have to be cleared with a testbook or can i flash the ECU?
