    Lovells, Browns or other suggestions

Hi guys. Thanks to all who responded to my question re shocks for my D2. A unanimous vote for Bilsteins. Now the next bit...which springs?
We will now be towing an O'briens camper trailer which unladen is about 700kg so will be about 1 tonne when we travel I guess. I currently have a 50mm lift. I want to retain the nice ride around town so I'm thinking of something with the standard spring rating (just 50mm taller)then fitting polyairs to assist when we tow.
As always, I value the advice from members here.
    Thanks

    Lovells or Dobinsons

I have Lovells and they are very good, Lovells won't do custom springs but Dobinsons will.

Yep, what you want is the perfect setup.

If you want the light springs with a lift you are going to have to get them custom made by Browns. You will not get them off the shelf.
It is a bit of a pain because you will have to give them the length of a standard spring when it is on the car (ie loaded) and then tell them you want the same rate spring but 2" longer at ride height.

If you try the D2 forum and speks with Franz or Ian Gray, both of them have recently done this, so they may have the measurements for you

Lovells will do a custom spring if your if your willing to pay $800 and wait 8 - 10 weeks

Dobinson will cost you about the $500 mark however if you call Shane and his web site is shop@suspensionstuff.com.au he been pedelling business around here and he does them heaps cheaper even for customs

    Give it a go

Lovell's are excellent quality, I've seen many browns springs fail, either by sagging, fracturing or breaking completely

I have a set of Lovells 50mm lift springs, cost $320 for the 4, are individually made for each corner, are these what you are referring to when you say "custom" springs, I am very pleased with their performance, had them 2 days after ordering, Regards Frank.
