    Injector Update

After installing the injectors to the TDI Disco, doing the valve clearances etc, the following has been noted.

    1) More Grunt
    2) Is more quiet no more rattles
    3) Better fuel economy.
Even just taking off from the Traffic lights has improved.

The Disco is just so much more pleasant to drive. So spending $380.00 with Paddocks has paid off.

The old injectors had 200k on them, I had started to notice she left people in a blast of black soot at the light or when under load up a hill, now all this is gone, has the typical 300 Tdi puff at start up but this typical of the 300. People said not to bother changing as they would be good for another 200k but I disagree, when I get the Digital camera back I will take some photo's of the old ones so you can see how bad they were, and I service my Disco every 7000k, change all the filters regulary. I average 500klm a week with another 200klm on the weekends, before I changed the injectors I would be lucky to be getting 12-13l per hundred.
With the new injectors, this week I averaged 9lt per hundred and this was city driving,
So all round I'm a happy camper!!!!

Yep, mine's done 333k and same symptoms. Good to hear that this fixed it. Did you email Paddocks to find out what the freight would be or just pay it? I know they're only small.

I wonder if mine need doing--Ive got 316000ish on the clock and after I have been driving for a few miles, when I stop at an intersection/lights,the idle has krept up to 900rpm's(when cold it idles at 600-650rpm's).
Fuel consumption is around 10-11k/100.Depends on how hard the right foot is.lol.

    Check ebay.co.uk

Hi, have just replaced the injectors in mine also last week, done 290k's,does run smoother and less black smoke. Picked a set up from the UK ebay site for 52 pounds, about 25 pounds postage, they arrived in less than a week. About $200 Aus., which is less for the whole set than the cost of one here at most suppliers.

    wow timr61, that's excellent.
Everytime I've followed a set on UK ebay they've gone for the same money as Paddocks sells them.
