I don't suppose it's the same rad as a RRC is it?
if so there's a ford rad you can fit, they cost about $200 new.

AFAIK they are the same as a Rangie.
But be careful, as usually cars mount their rads by the side tanks. This does not work on a 4wd, if you go on corrugations, as the tanks will separate from the core.
RRC and Disco mount on rubber bushes on the bottom , with the sid emounts only as a steady.

Re the new rad. Just be sure that they are quoting for the end tanks to have the coolers in them.

    Hi Guy, Hangover and Philip,

They are going to give me some sort of discount off the re-core or full new rad, which ever I choose so I guess that's fair.

I am going to find out what the model number is on the new one in case I can use the ford version, a good saving if possible!

Philip, could I weld the fittings to the bottom in case it is a side mount so that I can fit it like my current Disco' version?

I have no idea. I have never looked at a Falcon radiator closely. It would depend on the strength, and shape of the lower tie channel.
Ask the radiator guy. Maybe he has one to look at.'\

Do you know which model of the Ford you are referring to? I would like to know and then I can get the rad' guy to check it out for me.

    Hi All,

I have decided on getting a new EL Ford radiator. I have checked one out at a wreckers and the fitting locations for the hoses do not seem to be too far from where the Disco' ones are.

When dropping the EL in, if needed I'll cut off the Disco' rad' mounts and weld them onto the EL so that it mounts from the bottom.

I'll make sure to take a few pics so that I can hopefully help a few others if the same sort of problem crops up.

The brand new EL radiator btw was only $130 and included delivery to my door!

    Cheers, Pete'

Is the EL radiator the same width as the late RRC radiator or the earlier ones which had the external transmission cooler?

I need a radiator for the spare 1985.

Please let us know and take a few photos.
What about the tanks. I have an oil cooler in one and a trans cooler in the other.
