And what is wrong with a non genuine donut. Non-genuine just means you are not getting ripped off with the rediculous prices Landrover charges.

The non genuine is about $80 from memory and the genuine item from Landrover is over $200. I know a few people running them and at least one has clocked up 80,000km without a problem.

Got it from LRA and from memory paid close to genuine prices ($130ish i think).

I have heard recently that the non-genuine don't last nearly as long as genuine. Maybe I should have a quiet word in Andrew's ear.

Suspected this was on its way out. Its so badly damaged that it allowing the exhaust to rest on the crossmember causing the worst of the vibrations.

The other thing i found while i was under there was this....

Not very happy about this as it was replaced only 20,000kms ago and the previous one had lasted 170,000kms. Might be time to convert to uni's i think.
I really think that the worst of the vibrations would be coming from the rubber donut and the tailshaft, it really pays to check your vehicle when you feel a vibration, straight away, Regards Frank.

When I had my Disco I changed to a Range Rover driveshaft with U/J's both ends for $100 all up. I think it's the only way to go with any sort of a lift, mine was 2" lift as well.

Yep. Pulled the tailshaft this arvo and have driven it a bit. Bloody smooth as. Seems the exhaust resting on the cross member makes bugger all difference.

I have a good conditioned one in the shed. After breaking the uni joint the replacement was to long so I ditched the donut.
