    TC oil check

    I have had a leak from my TC for a long time now ...
    it suspiciously stopped so my first thought is has it still got oil ,could some one point me in the right direction in finding the fill plug /ofcourse i have located the drain plug but can't find the fill/check plug
    i have a td5 2000 disco

    Right on the back you will see a 12mm square internal plug. I used an extension bar with a ratchet and it's a bugger to get at.

    The main problem I find is the flexible (not) cable that you have to negotiate to get to the plug.

    The hot muffler does not help at all!

    Now where is that engineer that designed that ?

    An extension bar helps a little.

    a 12" long x 1/2" wobble drive works fine. Gets around the handbrake drum.
