    Disco1 electric mirrors switch

Thought I would add this for anyone else whos electric mirrors don't work.

Both my mirrors stopped working yesterday (recently at least) so today I checked the fuse plus power and earth at the switch. All checked out ok. I checked the switch with a multimeter and it checked out fine too.

So I took the spare switch out of the glovebox where it has been sitting since I bought the car. It was the old switch that got replaced. I checked it with a multimeter and it had no continuity at all.

Anyway I took it apart and cleaned it up but also found that it had two solder joints which go through the board to join tracks from either side of the board. They appeared to be dry but I've seen a lot worse.
After cleaning the board and resoldering it I clicked it back together and now my mirrors work and I have a spare switch now as well.

I imagine the switch I pulled from the dash has the same fault but I haven't pulled it apart yet. I guess the solder joints aren't buggered enough to stop continuity but enough to not allow current flow.

    Pretty simple fix.
