use the holden pressure plate against a landrover friction plate.
Like others who have a Holden 186 I face a problem with what pressure plate to use. The existing one looked like a Landrover 3 finger 9 inch one. I originally thought the 9.5 inch one would fit but that was a no go.
So today I went out to FWD Motors and they swapped it over for me. I had the flywheel with me but the guy said nah that looks like the Landy one allright when I showed him the old pressure plate. So I took his word for it. When I tried to put it in tonight everything is the same except for the bolt holes to bolt it to the flywheel.
On the one that was on it originally the bolts were at 16 Degrees, 103, 135, 224, 257 and 344 if you use the locating dowel as the datum.
On the Landy one they are evenly space at 30, 90, 150, 210, 270 and 330.
So I guess the old one may have been a Holden one but I am not sure.
Would I be better off drilling and tapping new holes in the flywheel and going with the Landy one. That way I know what I have got and if I went back to a Landy motor and ditched the 186 it would be all OK.
I could go down to Repco on Saturday and see if they have a Holden one.
Any thoughts guys?
Russ

I went down to Repco this morning and they were not very helpful. I took the original pressure plate in and the guy said definately not a Holden and was not prepared to help any further.
So for interest here is what I have. The original was a Borg & Beck. Overall diameter 279 mm. Bolt hole 262 dia.
The one I got from FWD is 286mm OD with bolt holes 270 dia.
The flywheel is 278mm dia so I can't even drill new holes to suit.
I think it might be down to a clutch place to see what they make of it.
I will keep you posted.

What's stamped around the edge of the old blue one?

None of those look very helpful apart from the finger part no. I can't find any other numbers on it at all.
Cheers,
Russ
Bugger.
Looks like a trip back to FWD for a refund.
