Clutch throw out brg![]()
Ok now i think i am hearing things, but early in the morning when i take my foot off the clutch slowly i reckon i can hear a whiring noise? then it sort of goes away after driving. is this telling me i better do something soon? can't see any abnormalities under the rig and havn't been able to isolate anything. anything i should be looking at in particular?

Clutch throw out brg![]()
It sounds like the bearing on the clutch pressure plate. I had a similar thing on mine a few years ago. It was worse while the engine/gearbox was cold. I can't remember now whether it was worse with the clutch in or out. It was an indication of clutch wear. It lasted about 6 months before I HAD to change the clutch. I had done 300k km so I figured it was about time.
I'd start getting quotes for a new clutch/pressure plate and other bits and pieces. It's a warning sign ....
It could be the spigot bush making its presence felt when cold before the oil impregnation works as it heats up..
So keep your ears open, but don't panic.

To my great frustration my stage 1 was doing this before I pulled the box last time when I pulled the box the spigot bearing was loose in the crank replaced it and it hasnt happened since.
G-60 Nissans used to do this all the time I never ever saw one fail but the noise was verrrrrry annoying when you back out in the morning.
Id doubt if it would ever fail but the noise will drive you insane so you might just well pay Bigjons wages for a week or so.
