    Could be a bearing, but is more likely perhaps to be wear on the rack and pinion that apply the power assistance. Unfortunately, these bits are expensive!

    Wow!

    Prices quoted are pretty scary.
    Most agree that the rack section is shot and parts are not worthwhile to get as a new box costs R6,000.
    Overhaul of Box R2,500 if only bearings and seals.
    So we wait patiently for the inevitable phone call.
    Hope my mate can get some more money on his bond to pay Landy repair bill.
    He is getting a feeling things may go the same way as his previose FreeLander and he will be forced to sell.
    Land Rover South Africa told him that although only 6months past gauruntee they are not interested to hear.
