Finally got under the beast today and changed the auto transmission fluid and cleaned the filter, quite easy , hardly any gunk at all in it.
A right pain to get the sump off, had to undo all the crossmember bolts bar one, jack on the transfer case , then tilt the crossmember down about 2" and out it came.
Was a bit worried about davros's prob with the torx, screws holding the filter on, so took it easy, discovered something, the #25 torx i had was a loose fit and started burring the inside of the bolt head. So I stopped went into town and bought a kinchrome mini rachet with a couple of torx thingys. the proper one was a tight fit and with the rachet and a bit of steady pressure they came undone quite easily. I suspect the cheapy torx drivers are just that cheapys and can cause more probs than they are worth. Not saying its what davros used but could have been.
checked the speedo sensor connections were fine , havne;pt done the road test yet.

thanks mate for the advice on the torx
