    4.11s

Thought it might be a good idea to change the diff ratios when I put the locker in. Just wondering where to buy them from and if reverse cut gears are a good or bad thing. Are some 4.11 sets better than others and what should I expect to pay, I notice LRA are $660 per end. And, is it worth pegging the diffs to run 33s. Any feedback appreciated.

    Cheers,
    Pete

I got mine direct from Ashcroft in the UK, you can buy them online. I think this is the cheapest way. I paid $850 for the pair landed.

Reverse cut are good, it means they will run quieter and from memory they are stronger. Ashcroft dont use reverse cut but they seem fine.

Just be aware of the difference between 4.1 and 4.11. Most of the gears from the US are 4.1 and are much weaker and easier to break.

I would not think you would need to worry about pegging if running 33's. I have not done it to run 35's.

    Adam,
when did you buy yours, the site lists then at 195 pounds per set which is about $890 without freight, and did that include anything else like setup shims and seals? I got a price from Great Basin Rovers including reverse cut fronts for a bit over a $1000 landed. They also have a heavy duty set about $1200 landed. Either set 4.11s not 4.1s.

    Cheers,
    Pete

Yea, reverse cut front, I paid about 600 for the front new, as I had a 9" rear at the time, then got a second hande rear at a later date

I bought mine about 2 years ago.
But thinking about it now, I organised a group buy and we bought 5 sets which is why we got such a good price

The expensive part is getting them installed.

If you can get them from US then it will be cheaper because of the exchange rate. Just make sure they are 4.11's. When I enquired 2 years ago GBR could only supply 4.1's.

2hrs labour, but include 250 for bearings and oil seal aswell

Setting up pinions is not as simple as setting up crown wheels, its something you need to get right, you also need the gear......Jig and known measured spacers and feeler gauges......and shims

I bought mine from the states although I did pay more for mine since they're a hardened set (about $1080 landed). I havet yet to fit them as I am at a crossroads weather to keep pouring money into a Rangie that is slowly starting to fall apart or move on and spend it on something decent

Got 'em anyway so fitting them will be in due course.
