    300tdi exhaust

Guys, Im getting a new exhaust next week for my 300tdi disco. Now i need to decide whether to get a 2.5" or 3" system. Anyone got any info on which will be better for the 300tdi, or anyone who is running a 3", how is it etc?

    Cheers

3" should be better, help it expel the gasses better. My stock 2.5 is a little noisy at the moment..... The flexible joint just below the turbo is dead and now it sounds like a tractor.... can't get it in to be replaced till wed so have to put up with it for now.

Exhaust guy said he has seen a few of these go and he usually suggests putting a longer one in as it puts less stress on it so should last longer. So i'm going with the longer 10" one. Might be worth thinking about too.

Ive got the standard 2.5 with just the main muffler cut out and other than a strange sort of exaust note it boosts faster and not really loud by any measure but not as quiet as it was.

3" straight through is meant to be the go from what my mates say and is where I would go if/when mine needs replacing but in saying that, Rangiemans sounds prety good with just the hotdog fitted.

    Talking Exhaust

    Dassa

    Have a look here.

Mine is stock dia with the main muffler removed and a 300mm straight through resonator at the end.

No additional noise but shedloads of more performance.

    Cheers,

I think you will find the standard manifold will still be the major choke point. Also there is a big flow difference btn standard pipes and mandrel bent pipes.
